Questions
How old should a lead be before re-engagement?
Usually 60 to 90 days after the last conversation. Earlier than that and the buyer is still deciding; much later and they have probably bought. Exclude leads already marked bought or lost for good.
What should I do with a STOP reply?
Record the opt-out on the contact immediately and exclude it from every future marketing send. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it.
Tips
- Only message people with valid consent — the DPDP Act and Meta’s rules both apply.
- Hold back a small group to measure whether re-engagement actually works.
Marketing templates need the customer’s opt-in.
