Variations
For an NRI buyer
Hi {{name}}, for booking {{unit}} at {{project}} on {{date}}, please keep ready: passport, PAN card, overseas address proof, 2 photos of each applicant, and the booking amount of {{booking_amount}} from your NRE or NRO account in favour of {{payee}}. If a relative will sign for you, we’ll also need a power of attorney.
Questions
Why ask for PAN of every applicant?
The application form, allotment letter and agreement carry each applicant’s details, and PAN is needed for tax compliance on the purchase. Collecting it for co-applicants at booking avoids a second trip when the agreement is drafted.
Can the booking amount be paid online instead of by cheque?
If the builder accepts it, yes — change the line to the bank account and ask the buyer to share the UTR. Payment from the applicant’s own account keeps the money trail clean for the home loan and later tax filings.
Tips
- Write the payee name exactly as the builder’s account reads; a wrong cheque delays the booking form.
- Ask for every applicant’s PAN up front — the allotment letter and later the sale agreement carry all names.
- NRI buyers usually also need passport and overseas address proof; send them a separate checklist.
