Where does AI actually help a broker?
An agent’s day is calls, WhatsApp chats, notes and follow-ups. Much of it is retyping what was already said. These are the tasks where AI saves real time today:
- Summarising a call or a long WhatsApp chat into a few lines on the lead.
- Drafting a reply in English, Hindi or Hinglish for the agent to edit and send.
- Proposing requirement fields — budget, location, BHK, timeline — from what the buyer said.
- Turning a spoken voice note after a site visit into a structured update.
- Writing listing titles and descriptions from the property’s details.
- Answering questions about your pipeline in plain words.
Call and chat summaries
A telecaller who makes dozens of calls a day rarely writes good notes. A summary that captures what the buyer wants, their objections and what was promised (“send floor plan by evening”, “visit on Sunday”) lets the next person continue without calling the buyer to ask again.
Illustrative example: after a 6-minute call, the summary reads “Wants 2 BHK in Kharadi or Viman Nagar, budget around ₹90 L, home loan pre-approved, prefers ready possession, visit Saturday morning.” The agent checks it and saves.
Drafting replies and capturing requirements
Reply drafts work best for repetitive messages: acknowledging an enquiry, sharing options, confirming a visit, following up after RNR. The agent edits tone and facts, then sends. On WhatsApp, messages outside the 24-hour window still need approved templates.
Requirement capture is the quieter win. Buyers state needs loosely across calls and chats; AI can propose structured fields, but they should stay marked as proposed until someone confirms them. Unconfirmed guesses feeding into matching would send wrong listings.
Matching and asking questions about your pipeline
Once requirements are structured, matching them against listings is mostly filtering on price, area, BHK and locality; AI helps by reading loosely written listings and requirements into those fields.
Pipeline questions are the other use: “Which Wakad leads had a site visit last week but no follow-up?” or “How many Housing.com leads did Ravi call yesterday?”. A good system answers with the filters it used, so you can check them, and only shows data your role is allowed to see.
What should AI not do?
The limits matter more than the features in a business where a wrong price or a false promise costs a deal:
- Never state prices, availability, RERA numbers, approvals or possession dates that are not in your records.
- Never replace verification: title checks, documents, KYC and site visits stay with people.
- Never send messages without consent or outside TRAI’s enquiry window and WhatsApp’s template rules.
- Never give legal, tax or loan advice to buyers.
- Never decide alone: proposals, scores and drafts are for a person to accept or reject.
Data protection and consent
Lead names, phone numbers, budgets and chat content are personal data under the DPDP Act, 2023. Sending them to an AI service is processing like any other: it needs a lawful purpose, access limited to people who need it, and a provider you can name in your privacy notice.
Prefer tools that send data to the model only to answer a request, mask fields a role cannot see and keep a record of what AI was used for.
How AI works in PropZolo
PropZolo’s AI gives call and lead summaries, reply drafts in English, Hindi or Hinglish, proposed requirement fields marked until someone confirms them, voice debriefs, listing copy and lead scores with reasons. Ask PropZolo answers plain-words questions with the filters used, scoped to what your role can see. Answers are checked against your own listings, leads and rules, and usage runs on monthly AI credits per user.
Questions
Will AI replace real estate agents?
No. Buying or renting a home involves site visits, negotiation, trust and paperwork that need a person. AI takes over typing work — summaries, drafts, requirement fields — so an agent spends more of the day talking to clients and less writing notes or searching through chats.
Can AI write WhatsApp replies to buyers?
It can draft them, and the agent should read and edit before sending. Prices, availability and visit times must match your records. Outside WhatsApp’s 24-hour customer service window, only approved templates can be sent, whoever drafted the text, and the buyer must have opted in.
Is it safe to put client data into AI tools?
Only into tools you can account for under the DPDP Act: data used just to answer your request, access limited by role, and a provider named in your privacy notice. Avoid pasting client phone numbers and budgets into consumer chat apps that your company does not control.
Does AI understand Hindi and Hinglish enquiries?
Modern models handle Hindi and Hinglish well enough for summaries and drafts, which matters in India where buyers mix languages in one message. Still review the output: names of localities, societies and amounts are where mistakes appear, and a wrong figure in a reply costs trust.
